jsPsych - A New Standard for Research on the Web

jsPsych is a project to create a new standard for research on the web. Today, research often depends on costly lab equipment. As a result, many research institutions are reluctant to invest in making a website run. What's more, creating a website for your experiment can quickly become an impediment. There is an increasing need for experimentation to be more transparent and reproducible. One way to achieve this is to bring the experiment to the website and run it within a web browser. This is one of the goals of the project.

This project allows researchers to take data, process it on their own computers, then send it to a website for a simple UI to store, query, and analyze it. This also makes it possible to do more than one experiment on one website, so you don't have to keep switching from one web browser to the other. It also makes it possible to make the UI in a browser more comfortable, which is useful when you are creating your experiment and recruiting subjects to participate.
